I have kind of taken a break from social media for a couple of days. {who am I kidding - really just facebook and blogging} It has been so upsetting seeing friends and other bloggers rally behind Chick-Fil-A because their faith tells them what sort of marriage we should have. I finally spoke out last night against a friend on facebook.
To me, marriage is marriage - anyone should be entitled to it.. shoot, anyone should be entitled to anything another person is. If it does not effect you directly, why does it bother you so much? Would you show the same carelessness to your child, brother, sister, aunt, or uncle if they came to you and told you they were gay?
I hope very soon, those people will look back on this time on the things they have said and be saddened by how they acted.
Thanks for letting me on my soapbox again. I promise tomorrows post will be fun!

But that's how everything works. People support what they believe and don't support what they don't. That's what's great about America. If your faith leads you to believe one thing, that's ok. But It's never treated that way. CFA doesn't discriminate. They hire gay and they serve gay. It would be different if they wouldn't allow them in the store. How is it fair that if someone voices they don't believe in something, they get "boo-ed" by the opposing team? I think it works both ways.
exactly right! People support what they believe, and for those who support gay marriage, do we punish all chick-fil-a's because of words their boss said? I know they have gay employess, but to me that is just so wrong... they have employees who I am sure some bosses care for - but refuse to give them the rights that they have.
I am not sure - it is a tricky situation and I am sure it will die down soon... but I have seen christians post that they are not the ones who should judge - they are meant to love everyone and whatever happens once that person passes away is for them and god to deal with.
Good point. My mom has always told me to love the sinner (which is everyone) but hate the sin. I love Chik fil a!!!! I will continue to eat there bc It's always clean and Yummy and they have those awesome kid placements you stick onto the tables so your kids don't have to eat off the table... Lol!! Thanks for the post!
